Tel Aviv Has World’s Best Vegetarian Food, Says Popular Travel Magazine
by Shiryn Ghermezian
A major travel magazine has crowned Tel Aviv home to the best vegetarian food in the world.
Conde Nast Traveler on Tuesday said the White City earned the title due both to the abundant availability of raw ingredients and culinary influences from a multitude of countries, among them Russia, Poland, Morocco, Bulgaria and Iraq.
“An impressive wave of vegetable-centric restaurants are taking Israel’s biggest city by storm,” the magazine declared.
Conde Nast Traveler listed eight restaurants in the coastal city with excellent vegetarian food, dividing them into two categories: vegan and “veggie-friendly.” Among them is an eatery in the middle of Tel Aviv’s Levinksy Market. Another is located inside the Ritz-Carlton Herzliya. The others listed include an Ethiopian vegan café, a posh Italian restaurant and an eatery located next to Tel Aviv’s Suzanne Dellal Centre for Dance and Theatre.
