The Palestinian terrorist who carried out a stabbing attack on Jewish worshipers at a makeshift synagogue in Tel Aviv in November told interrogators that he had set out to kill any Jew that crossed his path, the Hebrew news site nrg reported.

A ruling by the Israeli Supreme Court on Monday, related to the demolition of two terrorists’ homes, revealed that Samer Yasser Khalil — one of the two — had made this statement a day after committing the attack, which left two Israelis dead. Khalil said he had meant to die a martyr’s death, and that if he had merely committed suicide, he would go to hell, not be rewarded in the afterlife for having fallen while killing Jews.

Khalil – previously identified as Raed Khalil Bin Mahmoud – attacked a group of Israeli Jews conducting afternoon prayers in Tel Aviv’s Panorama office building, killing Aviram Reuven and Aharon Yisayev and wounding two others before being overpowered by civilians and held until the arrival of police.

The 36-year-old Palestinian father of five from Dura in the West Bank had worked at a restaurant in Jaffa, walking distance from the site of his attack.
