JNS.org – A Palestinian woman on Friday rammed her car into an Israeli soldier near the Gush Etzion junction in Judea and Samaria. She was subsequently shot dead by Israeli troops, the Israel Defense Forces said.
“The soldier was wounded and evacuated for medical treatment in hospital. Forces on site responded to the imminent threat and shot the attacker, resulting in her death. A knife was found in the assailant’s vehicle,” the IDF said, Reuters reported.
The incident is the latest in six months of Palestinian stabbing, shooting, and car-ramming terror attacks perpetrated against Israeli-Jewish civilians and security personnel. On Thursday, a 43-year-old Israel Police officer was lightly wounded when he was stabbed by a 14-year-old female Palestinian terrorist in the village of Al-Auja in the Jordan Valley, north of Jericho. On Wednesday, shots were fired at an Israeli police vehicle near the community of Rehelim in Samaria. One police officer was lightly wounded and was treated at the scene.
More than 30 Israelis have been killed since the terror wave began last fall. Some of the Israeli victims—such as Eitam Henkin and Tuvia Yanai Weissman—also held U.S. citizenship, while another Jewish victim, Ezra Schwartz, was an American student studying in Israel during his “gap year” between high school and college.
