Following Mohammed Mehar’s claim that he killed 3 children and a teacher at a Jewish school in France on Monday to “avenge Palestinian children”, the Palestinian diplomatic mission in France condemned the murderous acts.
The mission, speaking on behalf of the Palestinian Authority decided to “condemn in the strongest possible terms the hateful attack carried out in Toulouse. All racist crimes are attacks on humanity in general and on the republic in particular.”
PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad said the killer should not have stated he was acting in defense of Palestinian children, according to a report from AFP.
“It is time for these criminals to stop marketing their terrorist acts in the name of Palestine and to stop pretending to stand up for the rights of Palestinian children who only ask for a decent life,” the Palestinian premier said in a statement.
The condemnation and statements from Palestinian leadership comes nearly a week after PA President Mahmoud Abbas sent letters to the families of two terrorists – one of whom was killed – for what he called their “courageous” act of attacking an Israeli soldier and stabbing him.
“President Mahmoud Abbas sent a telegram of condolence to the Abu Aram family in Yatta, in Hebron, for the death of their courageous son, Zakariya Jamal Abu Aram. In his telegram, the President said: ‘I was greatly saddened by the announcement of Martyrdom death of your courageous son Zakariya Jamal Abu Aram, who was assassinated by the occupation army,'” reads a report from Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, the official daily newspaper of the Palestinian Authority.
