JNS.org – The White House said Monday it has evidence that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is preparing to initiate another chemical weapons attack against civilians.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said the US has “identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime that would likely result in the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children.”
Spicer said the Syrian regime’s activities are similar to its preparations for the deadly chemical weapons attack that killed at least 86 civilians, including 27 children, in April.
“[If] Mr. Assad conducts another mass murder attack using chemical weapons, he and his military will pay a heavy price,” said Spicer.
In April, Israeli leaders welcomed a US military strike on the Syrian airbase from where the regime was believed to have launched the chemical attack.
