Actor Will Smith Visits Israel, Says ‘I Feel Honored to Be Here’
by Shiryn Ghermezian
Actor Will Smith was seen at Jerusalem’s Western Wall on Thursday.
“It’s a very spiritual, very powerful place,” Smith, 49, told Israel’s Arutz Sheva while visiting the holy site. “I feel honored to be here.”
Access Hollywood reported that Smith is in Israel to film scenes for Disney’s live-action remake of “Aladdin,” in which he will play the Genie. His visit to Israel went unannounced until he was spotted in the Old City. The “Bad Boys” actor took a guided tour of Jerusalem and listened attentively to his tour guide, according to photos of him posted on Twitter and The Jerusalem Post.
This is not the actor’s first time in Israel. He toured the Jewish state in 2016 with his “Suicide Squad” co-stars and said during a interview that he had visited Tel Aviv in 2015.
