JNS.org – A group of anarchists on Monday vandalized the walls of the Israeli embassy in Greece’s capital of Athens.
According to Greek media reports, the vandals threw red paint on the entrance to the embassy building, and in a post online later explained that they were “expressing solidarity with the Palestinians, who have suffered for decades under occupation and are under pressure to leave the country in which they live.”
The vandals reportedly belong to the anarchist group Rouvikonas. In a video posted by members of the group, the anarchists are seen arriving at the embassy building on motorcycles in the early morning hours, throwing paint at the building and then fleeing the scene.
Rouvikonas has previously targeted the Hellenic Parliament and the Greek Defense Ministry, according to The National Herald.
