“Not only will I not condemn the chief of staff, I praise him and the commander of the air force,” Netanyahu said while in India. “I expect to see more appointments like this.”
Netanyahu chimed in after a number of prominent far-right politicians and rabbis criticized IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot over the appointment.
“The army has adopted a crazy feminist agenda,” Chief Rabbi of Safed Shmuel Eliyahu exclaimed in a radio interview.
HaBayit HaYehudi MK Bezalel Smotrich — one of the most socially conservative legislators in Israel’s governing coalition — asserted, “There are professions and roles for men and there are professions and roles for women. That’s the way the Holy One, Blessed be He, made the world, and that’s good. Woe to us if women become men.”
