JNS.org – Israeli security forces arrested 10 Palestinian residents of the West Bank village of Nebi Selah during raids early on Monday.
According to the Palestinian Authority Wafa news agency, 10 of the suspects heralded from the same family—that of Ahed Tamimi, a teenager who is currently on trial for aggravated assault of IDF soldiers.
Mohammed Tamimi, the 15-year-old cousin of Ahed Tamimi, was one of those detained and later released after being interrogated by the police.
Ahed Tamimi has attracted significant media attention due to her young age, attractive appearance and audacious behavior, but was denied appeals to the court for a public, media-attended trial.
The IDF said the raid was conducted “in light of the increase in the number of riots and popular terrorist acts coming from the village of Nebi Saleh.”
