Larry King Gives Passover Lesson, Gets Tipsy Drinking Four Cups of Wine
by Shiryn Ghermezian
Former CNN host Larry King gave a lesson on the Passover seder during a guest appearance on the comedic YouTube series “Good Mythical Morning” on Thursday.
The famed Jewish interviewer conducted a mock Passover seder with the series’ creators, Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, to try to explain to them what it entails before they head over to their producer’s house for a real Seder during the holiday, which begins on Friday night. King wore a kippah and Jewish prayer shawl, also known as a tallit, during the entire Seder.
King advised McLaughlin and Neal, “If you’re going to a seder, someone else will lead it. Nod your heads, look concerned [and] grow a little bit more beard.” He then told McLaughlin, who already has a beard, “You’re perfect. You look like a disciple.”
The group read through the Passover book called the Haggadah, ate the symbolic foods that are part of the holiday and also drank four cups of wine, as is per custom during the Passover meal. At the end of the Seder, King began slurring his words and said, “[I’m] getting bombed. Bombed on Manischewitz.”
