Amid Assad Regime Offensive in Southwest Syria, Israeli Military Bolsters Forces on Golan Heights

In light of ongoing developments across the border in Syria, the Israeli military has bolstered its presence on the Golan Heights, with the deployment of armor and artillery reinforcements.

“The IDF will continue its non-intervention policy in the Syrian conflict, while reacting firmly to cases in which Israeli sovereignty or civilians are threatened,” the IDF said on Twitter on Sunday. “Israel will continue to provide Syrian civilians with humanitarian aid as needed.”
On Thursday night, the IDF delivered humanitarian aid supplies to Syrian refugees living in tent cities close to the border.
According to the IDF, the shipment included 300 tens, 28 tons of food, three pallets of medical equipment and 30 tons of clothing and footwear.
A Reuters report said more than 120,000 people in southwestern Syria have been forced to leave their homes since the Assad regime launched an offensive to recover an area bordering Israel and Jordan from rebels.
