JNS.org – German police have arrested a Syrian refugee on suspicion of plotting a chemical attack in Israel, local media reported on Friday.
The suspect, 21, was allegedly actively recruiting members for a cell that was to carry out the attack at the time of his arrest.
According to media reports, the suspect is believed to be affiliated with the Islamic State group.
German police confirmed that the suspect was detained last week after he was involved in a brawl in a Berlin cafe.
The suspicions against him arose following information provided by German intelligence. Police then began tracking the suspect via his cellphone signal, but he was arrested only after the cafe incident.
