Two explosive devices attached to balloons launched from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip detonated over Israeli territory on Monday evening, causing no injuries or damage.
At the same time, Palestinians staged a riot on the Gaza side of the border with Israel. Such unrest has been regularly ongoing for almost a year now.
Thousands of acres of farmland and forests in southern Israel have been burned by incendiary balloons and kites flown across the border by Gaza-based terrorists.
Earlier on Monday, the IDF struck two Hamas military positions in Gaza after another balloon-borne device exploded inside Israel.
Despite the heightened tensions, no special instructions were provided to the residents of Israeli communities near the border on Monday.
