Jewish actor Adam Sandler managed to get Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine to perform at his daughter Sadie’s bat mitzvah celebration last weekend, he said Thursday on the ABC late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Sandler, 52, explained that he wanted to do something special for his daughter’s bat mitzvah and texted his friend Levine, who is also Jewish, to see if he could come and sing “a few tunes” at Sadie’s party on Saturday night.

The actor, who stars in the new Netflix movie “Murder Mystery,” continued, “But I don’t know why I did it. Then you see the dot dot dot immediately. I’m like, ‘He got it and he’s about to say something.’ And then he writes, ‘I can’t say no to you. Where?”

Levine, 40, happened to be familiar with the location of the party and told Sandler he attended several bar mitzvahs at the venue when he was a kid. The singer and fellow Maroon 5 bandmate James Valentine ended up playing three songs at Sadie’s party.

“It was the coolest thing, man,” Sandler told Kimmel. “Oh, she hugged me so much, my Sadie, after. The whole bat mitzvah, I mean that happened early in the night, so the rest of the night — it was hard to follow that.”
