Back in July, Hollywood director Darren Aronofsky tweeted out the first look of the set for his upcoming “Noah” film – his first major project since Black Swan in 2010 – and now we have the first shot of Russell Crowe as the biblical icon.

USA Today released the picture on Friday of a rugged looking Crowe, who will play the part of Noah in Aronofky’s adapation of the famous flood tale, scheduled to be released in 2014.

Crowe, who will be starring alongside Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, and Anthony Hopkins in the film, took to Twitter recently as the cast films in Iceland, updating fans on his daily journey to the set.

“I’m living on a vast plain of volcanic ash in the lee of a volcanic glacier. The commute to work is a hike up a mountain,” he tweeted.
