The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, released a statement on Sunday condemning an antisemitic sign which appeared at a Pro-Palestine march in the country’s capital of Warsaw the prior day.
Images shared on social media show a woman at the protest raising a sign with the Jewish star of David in a garbage can next to the words “KEEP THE WORLD CLEAN.”
Słuchajcie, to Warszawa prawie 80 lat po II wojnie. Niedaleko tereny getta, Umschlagplatz itd.
I dziś paraduje tam roześmiana dziewczyna z transparentem nawołującym do oczyszczenia świata z Żydów.

“We Poles, due to the memory of those murdered during the Holocaust, can never tolerate any manifestations of antisemitism in any form whatsoever, and any sign of it arouses our deep indignation,” Duda said in the statement. “In Poland there is no consent to express hatred against anyone. It completely contradicts the values on which the Republic of Poland is founded.”
The woman with the sign is reportedly a medical student from Norway who attends Warsaw Medical University. The university issued a statement on Instagram saying it has “taken appropriate legal actions” regarding the incident.
Over the past two weeks, numerous antisemitic outrages have occurred at pro-Palestine protests across the world.
