US President Donald Trump rang in the new year with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara at a high-profile New Year’s Eve celebration held at the Mar-a-Lago resort in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Netanyahu stood next to Trump on Wednesday night as they watched fireworks outside the latter’s residence, as seen in videos and photos shared on social media. First Lady Melanie Trump was also in attendance.
Others who attended the New Year’s eve celebration included Rudy Giuliani, Elon Musk, Emirati billionaire Hussain Sajwani, Trump’s sons Eric and Don Jr., US Secretary of Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino.
Trump and Netanyahu met on Monday to discuss the next phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement and the disarmament of the Hamas terrorist organization. At a press conference after the meeting, Netanyahu called their discussions “very, very productive” and announced that Trump has been awarded the Israel Prize “for his tremendous contributions to Israel and the Jewish people,” making the US president the first non-Israeli to receive the honor.
This week marked Netanyahu’s sixth meeting with Trump since January.
