One of the most infamous medieval blood libels was that Jewish rituals involved the blood or killing of non-Jews.
The Palestinian Authority (PA)’s official newspaper has now revived that libel:
“Talmudist Zionists … [are] carrying out the rituals of sanctifying the spilling of blood of the non-Jews.”

Another classic antisemitic libel is that Jews will do anything for money.
The PA daily invokes this libel as well, claiming that these “Talmudists,” meaning Jews, use religious pretexts to start wars “in order to profit from trade and expand their financial influence under the auspices of the colonial projects.”
In its extreme contempt for Jews, the PA daily tries to avoid even recognizing the Jewish people proper, instead using the term “Talmudist” as a double slur.
First, it presents Jews as a people driven by sinister religious teachings. Second, it delegitimizes the Jewish people’s return to their ancestral homeland by portraying Jews in Israel not as a nation restored to its historic land, but as instruments of a foreign “colonial project.”
According to the article, these “Talmudists” uproot “Jewish civilians from their countries of origin” and push them into wars in the name of Zionism and religion.
Palestinian Media Watch has repeatedly shown how antisemitism is central to the Palestinian Authority’s ideology.
The primary topic of this column in the official PA daily was actually a criticism of Hamas, but the author could not resist the opportunity to demonize Jews along the way. The result again exposes how the PA’s ideological foundation is steeped in antisemitism. Even when Hamas is the target, Jews and Israel remain the ultimate evil.
The following is the full excerpt of the article:
Headline: “Gaza is being burned by [Hamas] weapons and by rituals of spilling the blood of the non-Jews”
The Muslim Brotherhood members, who use religion [to justify their actions] in their armed branch in Palestine, called ‘Hamas,’ act blindly when it comes to human life … killing for the sake of establishing [Muslim Brotherhood] rule in this world … just as the Talmudists do, who uproot Jewish civilians from their countries of origin and push them into battles and wars [in Israel], which they paint with religious characteristics and names in order to profit from trade and expand their financial influence under the auspices of the colonial projects…
Weapons whose owners [Hamas] do not respect the law of the right to life of the homeland’s people must be … handed over to a legitimate and legal [Palestinian] national authority, or to an Arab and international authority. This is because they now provide the Talmudist Zionists with excuses to continue carrying out the rituals of sanctifying the spilling of blood of the non-Jews.
