A mural depicting Hamas-led terrorists separating Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or, a young couple abducted during the deadly rampage at the Nova Music Festival in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, was unveiled in Milan, Italy, in honor of the third anniversary of the attack.
The artwork is a recreation of the real-life moment when Argamani was forced onto the back of a motorcycle by a terrorist and taken away from the scene of the music festival attack in Re’im, Israel, while desperately reaching out her hand towards Or, who was dragged away in the opposite direction by other terrorists. Videos and images of their separation became one of the most recognizable clips of the Nova attack, where 364 civilians were killed and 40 were taken as hostages. Argamani’s outstretched arm, reaching out for Or, is the focal point of the mural.
“It is love trying to resist at the very moment when violence tears people apart,” said Italian contemporary artist AleXsandro Palombo, who created the mural dedicated to Argamani and Or. The black-and-white artwork is titled “October 7” and appears on an exterior wall of the Gallery of Modern Art (GAM) in Milan.
Palombo has previously created murals honoring survivors of the Nova music festival attack, the Bibas family killed in the Oct. 7 massacre, Holocaust survivors, and Iranian women protesters.
Saher Nidal Latfi Sakr was identified by the Israeli military as the Hamas terrorist who drove the motorcycle used to abduct Argamani and Or. The Israel Defense Forces announced on Sept. 27 that he was killed in an airstrike in the Nuseirat area of central Gaza. The IDF said Sakr was affiliated with global jihadist organizations operating in Gaza and supplied weapons to Hamas during its war against Israel. Sakr had recently worked with terrorist operatives to plan attacks targeting IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians, according to the military.
Argamani was held captive by Hamas terrorists in Gaza for 245 days until she was rescued by the IDF during a heroic operation in June 2024. Or spent 728 days in Hamas captivity, most of it alone in a tunnel cell underneath Gaza, before being released on Oct. 13, 2025, as part of a US-brokered Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement.
