An article by Yonatan Gat on the website for Israel’s Channel 2, rightly points out that in the wake of the U.S. President’s reelection, several candidates in Israel’s upcoming election are using nearly identical methods of advertising. Notice below the similarity to an animation from Obama’s campaign with that of Yair Lapid’s.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the incumbent, even took the same aesthetic approach to web design as his American counterpart:
Of course Gat points out that Obama has no right to cry foul. His famous slogan, “Yes We Can” was taken from former Bolivian President Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozado’s successful 2002 campaign. Lozado hired American public relations whizzes, who upon their return to the U.S. decided that the slogan still had some mileage. Seems they were right.
