Ed Koch, the former three-term New York City mayor who died Friday at the age of 88, is to be buried in Manhattan today. The funeral is to take place at Temple Emanu-El on the East Side of Manhattan. Among the speakers are expected to be former President Bill Clinton and current New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Koch was a fierce defender of Israel and steadfastly proud of his Jewish heritage. He wrote often for The Algemeiner in the last few years of his life and we are proud to offer below some of our favorite pieces.
