Critics have made the claim that despite having been democratically elected, there isn’t much difference in the way Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has ruled the country versus the way his predecessor, Hosni Mubarak, did.
In another sign that they might not be too far apart, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas made Freud’s ghost proud when he mixed up the names of the two most recent Egyptian leaders Wednesday while thanking Morsi for supporting the Palestinian cause.
Abbas, who was in the country for an Islamic summit, began by saying “President Mohammed Hosni” then stopped short and corrected himself to say “Mohammed Morsi.” According to the Associated Press, Morsi remained typically stoical during the gaffe except for a slight movement of the mouth that hinted at disapproval.
