“Why are the Jews so smart?” was the title of a recent video that ran during an episode of the popular Chinese online talk show “Xiao Shuo.” The video attempts to answer the title question through a series of responses posed to a “wise man.” Some of the responses given are that Jews begin to educate their children in the womb and make their children learn violin and other instruments to develop the brain. The scholarly qualities of the video are thrown into doubt when one of the claims made is that Jewish children practice Archery to improve their ability to concentrate and that a genetic disease also makes Jews smart.
