Washington, D.C.

Some twenty percent of undergraduates are Jewish at American University. Located in Washington, D.C., AU is home to both a Hillel and Chabad that provide students with a variety of religious, cultural, and social programming. The school’s Jewish Studies program offers both a major and a minor, and its Center for Israel Studies — which frequently hosts engaging events on campus — grants a minor. While AU doesn't have a kosher dining hall, Hillel maintains a kosher kitchen, and both Hillel and Chabad offer free Shabbat dinners every week. However, the school also hosts chapters of JVP and SJP, which held several events promoting the BDS campaign in 2017, and has experienced incidents of antisemitic flyering and vandalism in recent years. In April, AU's undergraduate senate passed a bill condemning antisemitism on campus, including the "demonization, double standards, and delegitimization" of Israel. (Photo credit: Wikipedia.)
