Sheikh Abdul Hadi Palazzi, secretary general of the Italian Muslim Assembly, continues to provide measured views about the State of Israel. He holds that the return of the Jews to Israel, as well as the establishment of the Jewish state, are in accordance with the teachings of Islam, and accepts Israel’s sovereignty over Jerusalem. Palazzi, also a director of the Cultural Institute of the Italian Islamic Community, condemns fundamentalism and fanaticism and promotes interfaith dialogue between Jews and Christians, among other religions.
