Ofir Dayan, president of the Columbia University pro-Israel student group Students Supporting Israel, has worked toward advocating for the Jewish state ever since her plane first touched down in New York. Most recently, she helped to convince student groups to reject a controversial effort to divest from eight companies because their ties to Israel. Dayan said the vote was an accomplishment for “what is right and just” and for the Jewish and Zionist communities at the Ivy League university. “The student council decided to reaffirm their commitment to make them feel safe on campus,” she said.
