Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum is the leader of part of the Satmar Hasidic community based in Kiryas Joel, an Orthodox enclave in New York’s Orange County. In Oct. 2020, Teitelbaum was in the headlines after he forcefully condemned protests against coronavirus lockdown restrictions mounted by Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn’s Borough Park neighborhood.
