A professor at George Mason’s Antonin Scalia School of Law, specializing in constitutional and international law, Eugene Kontorovich is known throughout the academic world and in the media for his defense of the moral and legal rights of the State of Israel. As director of the Koheleth Policy Forum, a Jerusalem-based think-tank, Kontorovich hailed 2020’s milestone decision by the US government to include the West Bank and the Golan Heights in cooperation agreements with Israel as “a very strong recognition that settlements are not illegal.” Kontorovich has also been active in deploying legal tools to oppose the anti-Israel BDS movement, and is regarded as the “intellectual architect” of US state laws regarding boycotts of Israel.
