Holocaust survivor Marion Deichmann is the subject and star of a new virtual reality film "Letters from Drancy" — the concentration camp constructed by the Nazis outside Paris. "My mother died in the gas chambers [at Auschwitz] and that to me is the ultimate evil that man has done to man, so I want the world to know what happened," Deichmann told The Algemeiner in July. "I want to tell the world what it is to be chased [and] to be hunted." The film was selected by the prestigious Venice Film Festival as part of its official line-up in 2023. The film is a tribute to Deichmann's mother, Alice, and the six million Jews who were murdered during the Holocaust. "Marion's story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit, and we believe it has the potential to leave a profound impact on viewers, urging them to embrace empathy, compassion, and understanding," the producers of the documentary pointed out in their announcement of its release.
