Gal Gadot: A Role Model and Real Life Wonder Woman
by Ronn Torossian
“Wonder Woman” was released earlier this month in movie theaters worldwide, with Jewish actress Gal Gadot playing the iconic female superhero.
I have met and spent time with Gal and her husband, Yaron Versano, on a few occasions and have found them to be good, down-to-earth people. Gal is a great caring parent and a true Jewish role model. It is wonderful that this beautiful, smart, talented woman has achieved her dreams, after working so hard to do so.
Gal was formerly Miss Israel and a soldier of the Israel Defense Forces, making her a fitting choice for the role which has been described as “arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe.”
She was born in Rosh Ha’ayin and has shown that she stands with Israel and is proud to be Jewish.
“I definitely have a strong sense of my Jewish and Israeli identity,” she told the website Totally Jewish. “I was brought up in a very Jewish, Israeli family environment, so of course my heritage is very important to me. I want people to have a good impression of Israel.”
Gal told CNN last week that she wants to inspire positivity in the world, noting that “it was really important for us to convey a message and to remind people about good things like love and hopefulness. If we have that more, we’ll have a better society.”
Gal Gadot is someone everyone should be rooting for.
