Episode 7 of the latest season of the popular U.S. talent variety show America’s Got Talent featured an orthodox, yarmulke bearing singer/pianist who rocked the stage, earning unanimous approval from the judges, who voted him into the next round of the competition in Las Vegas.
The performer, Edon Pinchot is 14 years old, and was referred to by The National Conference of Synagogue Youth as ‘the Jewish Justin Bieber’ in a promotional video that he filmed for the organization.
He has posted tens of videos on YouTube covering artists from Pink to Leonard Cohen and picked One Republic’s ‘Good Life’ for his AGT audition. The audience responded enthusiastically while his father looked on fondly from back stage.
“You sang with such emotion” said judge Sharon Osbourne, “I just want to see more.” Howard Stern, the Jewish radio host who joined the show this season told Edan, “you are so talented, you are so gifted, it’s a yes from me.”

He’s in my class and his name is spelled “Edan”. Trust me, I’ve known him all my life and our families carpooled together. They spell the name as “Edon” on the show so that people don’t pronounce it as “E-DAN.”

he is talented i dont care what his religion is! this boy has a talent of singing a song and making it his own. he’s polite, humble, and seems to be of just good moral carachter and that’s what this world needs is more humble talent and good boys in the media to set examples that it’s cool to behave and not have all kinds of baby mama drama and not show the world your underwear. talent is talent no matter where you’re from
