Amar’e Stoudemire Wears Tallit and Kippah During Wedding Ceremony

New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire was married in a small ceremony Wednesday on the rooftop of his apartment, according to the New York Post. Stoudemire, who made a high-profile trip to Israel in the summer of 2010 after discovering he had Jewish roots, wore a tallit and a kippah over his Calvin Klein tuxedo during the exchanging of vows with his girlfriend, who he shares three children with.
The couple were planning a wedding for next year but say they were inspired by Wednesday’s 12/12/12 date. The modest ceremony wasn’t the be-all and end-all for the two. “They are planning a big bash next year for friends and family to have a great time,” a source told the Post.
No word on whether the wedding took place under a chuppah or if it culminated in the breaking of the glass.
