If you’re famous then drastically altering your appearance can have drastic effects on your social life. Case in point: Matisyahu had to actually wait in line to get into a club while at the Sundance Film Festival because the door managers didn’t recognize him. What chutzpah!
If you’ll recall, late in 2011 the famed Orthodox rapper shaved off his trademark beard and side-locks making him totally unrecognizable to the ordinary fan.
Fortunately Matis gained VIP entry after 10 minutes in limbo when, according to the New York Post, “another friend recognized him.”
