Jewish Leader: Morsi Could Use American F16s Against Israel

The Zionist Organization of America this week criticized the Obama administration for its readiness to follow through on a foreign aid package to Egypt that will supply the country with 16 F-16 fighter jets and 200 Abrams tanks before the end of the year. The organization said it was specifically concerned as to who Egypt intended to use the weapons against.

The deal, signed while Hosni Mubarak was still president of Egypt, has come under increased scrutiny because of the recent surfacing of videos in which Egypt’s current president Mohamed Morsi makes vicious anti-Semitic comments, stating that Jews are the descendants of “apes and pigs” and that “we must not forget to nurse our children and grandchildren on hatred towards those Zionists and Jews, and all those who support them,” among other controversial remarks.

Morton Klein, President of the ZOA, spoke to the Algemeiner, and expressed his concerns about the deal.

“We now have videos of Morsi openly promoting hatred against Jews and Israel, so these powerful weapons in the hands of a vicious Israel-hater and Jew-hater is very frightening, because we ask ourselves, ‘who is he going to use these weapons against, is it going to be Iran or Syria? No, it’s going to be Israel.’”

Klein added, “He and his people have said even recently that they don’t know if they’re going to keep this agreement between Egypt and Israel, the so-called peace agreement.”

Klein also voiced his concern that the Jewish community was mostly silent on the issue. “To have these weapons in the hands of someone who has this unbridled hatred towards Jews and Israel is something that every Jew should be screaming out against.”

“I mean we fought (against) Saudi Arabia getting the AWACS why are we not fighting an even more vicious anti-Semite Morsi getting F-16 fighter jets and Abrams tanks,” Klein added.

  • The Obama administration believes Egypt needs 16 fighter jets and 200 tanks to defend itself from the ghost of Muammar Khaddaffi.

  • On financial grounds alone this is insanity of the highest order. Borrow money from China so you can donate advanced weapons to a 3rd world country that lacks basic facilities! Then consider the other factors mentioned above by other commentators. This adds up to a no brainer.

Dream on. How can Obama assist in Israel’s obliteration if he does not arm its enemies? Soon, once Iran has nuclear capabilities, it will be up to Obama and Hagel to assist with their delivery systems. Obama looks for a world which will give a leg up to everyone, except, of course, as usual, the Jews. Obama needs to make his pastor proud, and he does.

  • Very true. The 10 million Christians in Egypt are the ones at risk. Just say no!!!

  • It’s a shame that Jews who supported Obama were so gullible. Too late now, guys, we’re now stuck with him for four years and stuck with the result of his policies for generations.

  • Obama promised to fundamentally change America

Why the surprise (with the name Of Barack Hussein Obama?)

This shipment of advanced jet fighters and tanks should be nixed without any question. The Muslim Brotherhood charter refers to Americans as infidels who will fail in their endeavors as a people. It calls for the destruction and dismantling of the State of Israel and death to all Jews. The list of radical Islamic rules, laws, commandments, customs, and dogmas aims to bring about an Islamic civilization globally. In my view, only a crackpot would supply Egypt with 16 F-16 fighter jets and 200 Abrams tanks as a foreign-aid package this year. Sometimes it is necessary not to mince words: this is such a time! I speak here as a Jew, an Israeli citizen and a United States citizen.

    • Barak Obama is a muslim and a frighteningly disturbed and flawed personality. I trust this does not come as a surprise to you, my Israeli friends. I’m Irish and understand a thing or two about oppression and occupation. I lived in the US for 12 years and have an abiding affection for the country and its people. The vast majority of Irishmen have the same regard for America. I have the same feelings for Israel. I would take up arms in defence of both countries.
It is critically important that Israeli’s begin to understand Obama. He is not just another American President. He is uniquely unqualified for the job and even his legitimacy to hold the office is suspect. He reminds me a little of the Italian WW2 dictator Benito Mussolini and be assured Obama has aspirations to become dictator of the USA. He does not lack intelligence; however what constitutes his warped DNA manifests itself in unwarranted arrogance, narcissism and self-delusion.
Obama despises the British because they colonised Kenya, the homeland of his father and perhaps even himself. He returned a bust of Winston Churchill, presented to Bush in 2001 (I think). As an Irishman I understand the origin of that sentiment, even though I greatly admire Churchill’s intellect. Obama hates Jews and Israel (he was born a muslim, after all) and he will do anything he can to take Israel down. Be assured of this. He is a pathological liar and practised in Taqiyya.
Dinesh D’Souza produced a marvelous movie titled 2016: Obamas America. I’ve viewed it 3 times already (even though I was aware of everything presented in it). Every Israeli should watch it. It will give you the most logical understanding of the danger this man poses to America, Israel and indeed the entire western world. I urge you to watch it and make sure every Israeli sees it. F 16 planes to Egypt is crazy. Why would we want a fundamentalist Islamic government to have such weapons? Cancel all aid to Egypt except direct humanitarian aid administered by Americans.

At this stage of Islamic behavior the best thing the West can do is to disconnect and let them “stew in their own juices”.

  • Alex Zapolanski

Every Jew that supported Obama has become a ” de facto ” accesory/accomplice of his behaviour and is responsible for the consequences of Obama’s actions.
    No excuses.

First and foremost all Arab and Persian tyrannies have a ‘Republican Guard’ made up of the most politically loyal and therefore best equipped and trained forces. But all of these Republican Guards only have their guns trained inward at their own people not outward. They serve the singular purpose of maintaining the regime. They are designed to keep the miserables, the malcontents, the dissidents, the revolutionaries and the ordinary food rioters in check. They can’t afford to risk their resources going up against anyone who could match them in men and materiel.

    • That does not seem to stop Hammas and the countries who are supporting them

Egypt is allowing terrorists on the sinai dessert.Their leader is heard to pronounce Anti Israel and anti semetic remarks and you do not have a problem with America sending them planes?

    Jewish Presence in Contemporary Art

The Jewish presence and identity in the contemporary world of art is one truly worth noting. At the 3rd annual conference of “Jewish Arts & Identity in the contemporary world” in Baruch College’s Jewish Studies Center, at a panel entitled “Jewish Ways of Seeing: The Visual Arts and the Jewish Tradition”, the Jewish impact on the creative world is exemplified through the discussion of artist Audrey Flack and her various works. Flack was born in 1931 to a fairly Orthodox [...]

Black Jazz Musician Encounters Mixed Reactions to Subway Renditions of Hatikvah, Hava Hagila

At first you may be skeptical of Isaiah Richardson Jr. He doesn’t look like somebody who would be playing Hava Nagila for passengers waiting for their train in the subway. Firstly, he seems too young,  and secondly, he’s a black kid from the Bronx, dressed sharply, derby hat and all. But when upon meeting Isaiah, the 32-year-old ticked off “Hevenu Shalom Aleichem,” “Bashana Haba’ah,” and “Zum Gali Gali” as some of his favorite songs to play passing crowds, I knew [...]

This Mother’s Day, the music of opera singer Sharon Azrieli Perez will integrate the varied threads that have made up the fabric of her life. Perez, in a Mother’s Day concert May 12 at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, will weave a musical experience that brings together intimations of Israeli independence, Giuseppe Verdi’s use of Jewish melodies, medieval Ladino music, and modern Jewish show music. These musical elements are particularly personal for Perez, whose Juilliard education has [...]

Israeli soccer star Yossi Benayoun, who currently plays for FC Chelsea in the English Premier League, was recently the victim of anti-Semitic abuse on Twitter. After thanking his Twitter followers for sending him birthday wishes, Benayoun, who many consider to be the greatest Israeli soccer player ever, was sent the following message: “f***in Jew a**hole.” Benayoun posted a response, saying, “Some nice people in the world.” His team has called on the police to investigate the matter, according to the Britain’s [...]
