Amazon.com, the world’s largest online retailer, has been caught selling anti-Semitic and Nazi-related hate literature, website The Kernel reported.
The revelation comes after an apparent four-year hate literature hiatus since 2009, when the American Jewish Committee sued Amazon’s German subsidiary for stocking 50 pro-Nazi books. The offensive books were removed from the site, though they now have been re-stocked on its virtual shelves.
According to The Kernel, books that glorify Nazis are available for sale in Austria, Germany and France, which ban that type of literature. Titles include The Myth of the Extermination of the Jews, Building a Whiter and Brighter World, and Did Six Million Really Die?
“According to the publishers of Did Six Million Really Die?, the book reveals that ‘the Auschwitz Camp Museum has confessed that the ‘gas chamber’ shown to tourists is fake,’ that ‘original German architect plans of Auschwitz show no ‘gas chambers,’ that ‘forensic chemical examination of Auschwitz has disproved the use of Zyklon-B as a homicidal agent’ and that ‘official Israeli and Polish university archaeological digs at Belzec, Chelmno and Sobibor have failed to find any evidence of ‘gas chambers,'” The Kernel wrote. “The book also claims to show ‘how ‘eyewitness survivor’ memoirs, including that of Simon Wiesenthal, have been forged’ and ‘why the story was made up.'”
Last week, Amazon was also compelled by consumers to remove books about rape, bestiality, incest and other sexually deviant works that were for sale on its website.
Similar hate books can also be found on the website of bookseller Barnes & Noble, The Kernel said.
