A rabbi in New Haven, Connecticut got one enviable return on his investment recently when he found $98,000 in a desk he bought off Craigslist for less than $200.
The local rabbi found the money while dismantling the desk, which had to be broken down into various pieces because it was too big to fit through the front door of his home.
Instead of keeping the money, he contacted the desk’s original owner, who said that it was an inheritance that had been misplaced.
