Hamas fighter Ibrahim al-Aloul was killed 10 days ago in a mysterious explosion in Gaza while hunkered down inside a building with several other terrorists, Channel 2 said.
At the time of his death, Hamas did not release any personal details about al-Aloul or any information about his role within the Jihadist organization. According to Hamas, al-Aloul was “killed during a training exercise,” Channel 2 reported.
However, in the days following al-Aloul’s death, rumors spread across Gaza-based social media networks that the Hamas henchman was in fact a commander in the group’s hitherto unknown naval unit.
In response to this cyber chatter, Hamas confirmed al-Aloul’s true role within the organization’s military wing by issuing a commemorative video in his honor. The footage shows members of al-Aloul’s unit sailing on boats, patrolling Gaza’s beaches and launching rockets from the coast line into Israel. The video also shows al-Aloul training with members of his team, Channel 2 said.
Hamas’s Navy SEAL unit is being organized and trained with the goal of providing the terrorist rulers of the Gaza Strip an at-sea battle capability, according to sources.
