Bennett: Europe ‘Will Suffer’ From Strengthening of Hamas
by Algemeiner Staff
Naftali Bennett, Israel’s Economy Minister and the leader of the Jewish Home party, has issued a blistering attack on the European Union, following the decision by the EU’s General Court to remove the Palestinian Hamas organization from its list of terrorist groups.
Bennett invoked a Biblical metaphor in condemning the move. The court, he said, “is like Sodom, where good was evil and evil was good.”
“The decision cheapens the blood of Jews and demonstrates a lack of moral clarity,” Bennett continued. “If someone thinks that sacrificing Israel will save Europe, they are wrong.
“Israel is strong and knows how to defend itself against those who seek its harm. The Europeans themselves will be the ones to suffer from the strengthening of terrorist organizations like Hamas.
“Justifying terror in Tel Aviv means that terror will spread to London, Paris and Brussels. Unfortunately Europe will not be able to say that we did not warn it ahead of time.”
