William Kristol
Weekly Standard editor, Emergency Committee for Israel founder
The doyenne of neo-conservative intellectuals, the editor of the Weekly Standard, a familiar face on Fox News and other broadcasters, the founder of the Emergency Committee for Israel – these are just a few of William Kristol’s achievements. And he can always be relied upon to call out the hypocrisy of the world’s repressive regimes, as he did when he slammed Iran’s condemnation of the terrorist attack against French magazine Charlie Hebdo, pointing out that “Iran began the business in 1989 of deciding that they could issue a fatwa in other countries.” As the Obama Presidency enters its “lame duck” period, Kristol will continue challenging White House orthodoxies on Iran, on the Palestinian conflict with Israel, and on the rise of Islamism in the Middle East.
