The agreement was temporarily put on hold due to financial reasons but a deal has now been reached that includes a £5 million transfer fee, £2m in potential add-ons, and a 10 percent sell-on clause, according to The Athletic. A medical is expected to take place this weekend followed by an official announcement by West Ham of Solomon’s placement on the team, The Standard reported.
Solomon, 27, is set to become the third major acquisition of the summer for West Ham, following the arrival of free agent defender Joel Veltman and Venezuelan winger Keiber Lamadrid from Deportivo La Guaira. West Ham played their first major match of the season on Saturday, beating Portsmouth 3-1 in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
Solomon joined Tottenham as a free agent in 2023 from Shakhtar Donetsk, following his time with Fulham. He made only six appearances with Tottenham, most recently as a substitute for the North London club when they competed against Liverpool in September 2023. The Kfar Saba native, who previously played for Israel’s national team, suffered a meniscus injury in his right knee shortly after, which kept him on the sidelines.
Solomon joined Leeds United on loan the next season and helped the team reach the Premier League. He joined Spain’s Villarreal on loan in September 2025, even after anti-Israel fans of the Spanish team said the left winger was “not welcome at Villarreal and does not deserve the affection of its supporters.” Solomon made only 11 appearances with the Spanish club and was recalled in early January. He was then loaned out to Fiorentina in Italy for the rest of the 2025/26 season, where he scored twice in 19 appearances.
Solomon began his professional soccer career with the Israeli Premier League soccer team Maccabi Petah Tikvah in 2017.
