The Israeli foreign ministry posted a photograph of the kitchen knife it said a 19-year-old Palestinian woman in Hebron used as she attempted to stab an Israeli soldier on Tuesday just before Yom Kippur.
IDF soldiers opened fire on Hadeel al-Hashlamun, and she later succumbed to her wounds at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
According to Israeli military authorities’ preliminary investigations, a metal detector sounded as Hashlamun walked through a check point, and when soldiers fired warning shots urging her to stop she brandished the kitchen knife.
No soldiers were wounded in the incident.
On Thursday, the Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry posted to Twitter:

Yom Kippur in Hebron was marred by violence this year, as IDF troops also shot dead a 21-year-old Palestinian man amid what they said was an attempted improvised-explosives attack, triggering riots in the area and attacks against IDF troops.
