The IDF, Border Police and Israel Police have set up dozens of ambushes throughout Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), to catch Palestinians throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails, Israeli 0404 News reported on Sunday.
According to the report, this is not the first time security forces have used ambushes to combat the phenomena, which have been taking place for the last two years, particularly in the Jerusalem area. But, as a military official told 0404 News, due to the recent escalation, “We have stepped up our forces in locations that are known to have flare-ups of violence, and fighters are setting up ambushes in order to identify suspects.”
He added, “Whenever necessary, we aim fire, but that is only if [perpetrators] are endangering civilians or security forces.”
