Red Hot Chili Peppers Visit Jerusalem Ahead of Israeli Concert (PHOTOS)

Ahead of their Monday night performance in Tel Aviv, the Red Hot Chili peppers stopped for a tour of Jerusalem.
After landing in Israel from Turkey, the group traveled to the Western Wall, where photographers snapped photos, one day ahead of the Chili Peppers’ first ever concert in the Jewish state. The concert on Monday will be their last on an overseas tour before returning to the U.S. to begin touring in two weeks.
With 7 Grammy Awards, and over 65 million albums sold worldwide since 1983, the band announced in a video message earlier this year that they would be adding their name to the list of music superstars to perform in Israel in 2012, with Madonna and Lady Gaga also taking part.
“I would like to announce our huge joy and pleasure and excitement and the thrill we have to come to Israel for the very first time,” band member Michael “Flea” Balzary said.
One of the Chili Peppers founding members, Hillel Slovak, was born in Israel. He passed away from a drug overdose in 1988.
