LA Late – John Demjanjuk is on a hunger strike, protesting hiscourt’s failure to turn over requested documents. John Demjanjuk’s hunger strike come as his Munich trial nears an end. The two week trial seeks to prove that the now 90 year old previously aided in the killing of approximately twenty-eight thousand Jews during WW II.
This week, Demjanjuk’s attorney Ulrich Busch said his client refuses to eat until documents requested are turned over. Demjanjuk was wheeled into courtthis week holding a piece of paper with the number “1627”³ on it. The number referenced a Russian file that Demjanjuk asserts has upwards of one thousand four hundred papers in it critical to his case.
