A poker faced tournament to impress even the likes of Lady GaGa entertained the large turnout at Shalva’s recent NY fundraising bash. As champagne poured and chandeliers shimmered the fashionable crowd mingled and embraced the spectacular view at downtown’s trendy Tribeca Rooftop.
Since 1990, Shalva has been improving the lives of mentally and physically challenged children in Israel. The organization is the brainchild of Malki and Kalman Samuels whose second child, Yossi, has been called “Israel’s Helen Keller”. Kalman commented that Shalva’s key mission is to offer not only the children but also their families a “quality of life so that they can cope”. The evening’s revelry raised in excess of $125,000.
