The intense search for a missing Borough Park boy, Leibby Kletzky has come to a horrific and shocking end, as police say they have discovered the dismembered remains of the 9-year-old, in a dumpster, and have at least one suspect in custody.
The suspect, who was seen in surveillance video with Leibby was taken into custody at 2:40 a.m. at his apartment in the Kensington section of Brooklyn where detectives also found parts of the boys body. The suspect – who according to neighbours goes by the name Levi Aron – made statements implicating himself in Leibby’s death, Police said.
Leibby failed to meet his mother at 5 p.m. Monday after leaving a chasidic day camp just a few blocks from his home. His disappearance prompted a massive search, with thousands of the orthodox Jewish community scouring the streets for any hints of the boy.
“There are no words, just no words, to describe the sense of what happened here,” said State Assemblyman Dov Hikind in an interview this morning. He also said that the suspect is Jewish.
Funeral plans have not yet been announced.
