The Israeli government accused the Lebanese army of firing on a routine IDF border patrol. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the attack, and the soldiers returned fire.
The clashes broke out on the border between the two countries on Monday morning, according to Israeli and Lebanese media reports.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the Israeli soldiers had crossed into Lebanon prompting the LAF to open fire, however Israel has emphatically denied this.
