Each year the Jewish Book Council releases their list of the top annual reads.
Today, the 2011 list was announced. It includes a Pulitzer Prize winning author and a newly established award in honor of the late Myra Kraft. Myra was the wife of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Together they were very active in Jewish Philanthropy, and Myra Kraft sat on the Jewish Book Council Board.
According to the Council’s press release, ‘This year’s winners include Pulitzer Prize-winning author and illustrator Art Spiegelman, whose new book, MetaMaus: A Look Inside a Modern Classic, Maus (Pantheon/Random House), wins for Biography, Autobiography, and Memoir. The judges describe it “as brilliant and paradigm-shattering as…Maus… a work of genius'”.
