Business Week – Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said he doesn’t believe that the U.S. military chief, General Martin Dempsey, is coming to Israel this week to pressure leaders not to strike Iran’s nuclear program.
“I don’t think the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is coming here to put pressure on Israel,” Barak told Army Radio today. “In the U.S., as is the case here, army chiefs are concerned with formulating different military options and bringing their views to the political leadership, and don’t deal with delivering diplomatic messages.”
