Tuesday night in New York City, Jewish actress Scarlett Johansson co-hosted an event to raise money for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.
The event, which launched the Runway to Win initiative was held at Theory – a store selling modern fashion to both men and women – and was attended by 27 fashion designers, all of whom made fashion items to be sold online for campaign contributions.
Beyonce, Marc Jacobs, and Tory Burch are among those who chose to participate.
“There is so much at stake in this campaign,” said Johansson in a statement to the press. “2012 will not be easy. We have to fight even harder this time around, and that’s where Runway to Win will make a real difference.”
